A good choice.

A half dozen fellows at the local Club bought MPR. All are happy with them.

Prior to the Wuhan Flu hiatus, it was all that I could do to beat them with my 1710 HB.

They are a fine rifle with a...

The stuff if nightmares!

I have bad dreams about this sort of stuff.

I also went to a ProShot .20 for my 1913 and 1710 rifles.

Nightforce for my Anschutz 1913.

I will cast another vote for the NightForce 15-55X 52mm Competition with the tiny target Dot.

Clear glass, zero-stop, clear turrets that click.

Upgraded my rest.

I upgraded my rest to a Sinclair heavy varmint with a Dan Greenlaw adjustable top and Protektor bag. It works very well and I am very happy with the combination.

Easy install.

Sir,

I was not a fan of the factory release either with my pudgy fingers.

I got the extended part from Nordic Marksman in Nova Scotia and had it installed in 5 minutes after I opened the...

Ballistol.

I put a little Ballistol oil on the bolt of my rimfire rifles.

I also put it on the inside of the barrel with a cotton patch, and the outside of the metal parts.

It is good stuff.

And made...

Caldwell and Greenlaw

I also like to keep costs in line and agree with your Greenlaw top recommendation.

I put a Greelaw top on my Caldwell BR base (drilled to 1/2-20 for Sinclair feet) and am very happy with it. It is...

Thats what I thought.

It is curiously similar to their Biathlon Sport product, if the chart on the SK website is to be believed.

I will admit that "Long Range" ammo sounds cool.

I will probably stick with SK rifle...

+1 for Lee Shaver inserts

I think that the Lyman globe front sight is just the thing - they are on all of my big bore black powder cartridge rifles.

The inserts are of good quality, but extremely large - and not conducive...

Slick is good!

I got a Protektor front bag with the slick material and really like it.:bthumb:

I wish that I had gotten that same stuff on the ears of the rear bag.

Thanks for the update.

Sir,

I am considering a Leupold 45x and wondered about it's suitability at the 25 yard range we shoot in the winter.

I am glad that you confirmed the scope will focus at these distances.

another adaptor

I have found an adaptor that allows a weaver scope ring to attach to the 11mm grooves on these rifles:

Leapers UTG .22/Airgun to Picatinny/Weaver Low Pro Snap-in Adaptor, MNT-DT2PW01

I have...

I used a delrin adapter from J and P to adapt Burris rings to my Anschutz rifle.

A small job for a machinist.

Rick,

I started off benchrest shooting a year ago and found the sloppy threads on my Caldwell BR tripod a real drain on my accuracy. I wanted a Sinclair speed screw, but they had nothing in 10mm....

Thank you for the ideas.

Gents,

I thank you for the ideas - I shall try them.

The dryer sheets and wax will likely get done this week, and the looser front rest the week after.

I suspected that the rear bag ears...

Hmmm.

As an engineer with a nurse for a wife I am intrigued in the possibilities. We are both retired so she does not need that blood pressure stuff anymore.

Thanks for that suggestion.

Rear bag wax still a thing?

Gents,

I am finally at a point in my shooting that 'the little things' are seeming to make a difference in the progression of my shooting results.

I am having good luck with taking many...

Try needlenose pliers.

Xhair,

When I swapped out my factory spring on my 1710 I was worried about stripping the adjustment screw. Only loosen it off about half of the adjustment.

Using small nosed pliers grab 2 coils...

My new 1913 just came in the mail with a handful of wrenches - but not the one in question.

I guess that times have changed.

Are these parts 'collectors items' now?;)

I made the swap on my 1710 and used the stock pin and spring.

The swap took about 4 minutes, and most of that was taking the action out of the stock.

I used a dental style pick made of hard...
