I first went to Ireland in 1967. Could not fit the paper money in a wallet. The 20 pound notes were the size of a small catalog! And the coins were huge too. Fun experience though!

After trimming the length, I'd recommend that you also round the edges of the screw head to smooth it out. Sharp edges will likely hang up on the drop out.
