From my experience reloading for the last decade, a decrease in bullet weight decreases pressure. You'll just be giving up power bu removing material, I doubt you'd have any issues other than that.

You could shave a few ounces with a Beyer barrel, and one of the new RTB true slick side uppers. Other than that, you've pretty much reached the limit.

The accuracy will suck, and there will be a lot of gas spewing from the ejection port, but I've never heard or had any issues with damage that I'm aware of.
