I think the front part with the set screw can break. I am also curious if the tab broke off the action. GRG knows how to repair these!

I think they are closer to adult size than many and they shoot ok and function fine. As said the painted alloy is not as durable as blued steel. I would rather have a Winchester 61 or Remington 121...

I should add that it didn't shoot to bad. Good enough for rabbit hunting. But with the right ammo it shot some small groups at 50 yds.

That one is a real looker. I used to have one and the rumors were true. It didn't shoot very well. After some testing I found a lot of Federal Automatch that shot very good in it.

I have been using lacquer on some stocks. Rattle can Deft. Works ok but I have to do a lot of sanding to get a good finish. I like the final results.

Newer models have separate bolt stop. Old model just uses sear for bolt stop. Probably more adjustability in newer triggers.

Something to check is the edge of your chamber where the firing pin shoulder hits. Not the tip of the pin but the shoulder. The 591/592 can get a little bump of metal where the firing pin shoulder...

Letter codes are on barrel just ahead of action on left side. Separate from serial number that is on left front of action itself. Usually small and look hand stamped. Often hard to read.
