I've had two Marlin 39A's over the years. One made in mid 2000's and a Mountie made in the mid 60's.

Sold the mid 2000's gun but still have the Mountie.

Every 9422 I've gotten my hands on,...

Would have loved to seen the 72 covered with the 69/69A since it's basically the same rifle, sans mag + tube.

May be blasphemy around here, but I always kinda preferred the 72 vs the 69.

$250 for a 69A with a peep in 95% condition or so? Maybe in 2004, at least in my area.

Now this is easily a $400+ rifle on a gunshow table. 98%+ and I'd expect to see it for $500 on a table. I...

The closest I found to "match" ammo for the .22 mag was the old RWS (that no one seems to import anymore). I found that it outshot all of the other brands in pretty much every rifle I tried it in.

The 190 was a piece of crap by Winchester standards. It may have shot 'ok' (at least until a few parts wore out--and they always did), but that doesn't mean it was designed that well or made out of...

$9.47 for the 40gr Winchesters around me. They seem to shoot the best...better than the CCI 40gr rounds.

Not as good as the RWS loads, but can't get those anymore.

Not sure if they actually stopped making it or not, but they sure stopped importing it. When it got to the point of $35+ per box, I don't think folks thought it was worth it anymore.

Too bad. ...

He actually found a rifle for me that he had no idea that he had back there one day. No idea how long it had been sitting, but fortunately it was exactly what I was looking for.

I try not to go...

What current 40gr .22 mag ammo is as good as the old RWS? I'd love to know because I'd run out right now and buy as much as I possibly could.

Also depends if it is an alloy or steel receiver (value). Most of the problems with the BAR .22 is because people have done something stupid to them, not because they are unreliable or poorly...

The older RWS .22 mag ammo is definitely hotter than the newer (most recent) RWS .22 mag ammo that we were able to get (which we now cannot).

Both are still extremely accurate, but the older...

This tells me absolutely nothing. "high quality aluminum" is purely a marketing term and could be anything from cast aluminum to forged 7075 T6. Although, if it were the vastly superior 7075...

That's an older one too with the straight bolt and older-style stock. Nice rifle. I've been expecting good ones to go up in value as the 75 and 52 Sporter prices approach the moon.

I have a 72...

Original T-Bolt Stocks

Does anyone know of a source that still has a few original T-bolt stocks laying around? T1 or T2...I'm not really too picky. I'd even take a nice used one (as log as it was not saltwood)

I'd...

Weren't the A-bolt .22's hit-or-miss (no pun intended) when it came to accuracy?

I know some folks have tack drivers and others have had poor luck. That's always kept me away from buying one...

The Kimber Rimfire 1911 is indeed rare in 17M2, but it is rare for a reason...the round didn't cycle too well in that pistol and Kimber killed it very quickly.

There is a difference, but it isn't nearly pronounced as the pre-88 (specifically the 50's and 60's) 39A's vs the later ones.

At least Winchester kept true to the rifle and didn't put all the...
