Went with a Vortex Crossfire II HD 8x42. Dick's had them with a Glasspak and 25% off. It was the best deal I could find.

Never heard of the Wiland. Had to look it up. Looks like a steel tube pressed onto a shorter fluted barrel. Same concept as OP. Looks pretty neat.

Mine did the same thing. I just spun the safety around till it snapped back in place. Not a big deal at all. Didn’t even take the trigger group off the receiver.
