On the ejection issue

I found that different brands of ammo had different rims. I've got one 1712 that will sometimes toss a CCI toward the scope. But a Eley is thrown out perfectly every time. Never had a issue with Eley...

sorry for the back to back posts........

Just looked over on Gunbroker and found 3 very interesting rifles you might should look at. One is a Savage/Anchutz 54 with a Redfield scope no bids and sitting at 1000 for a bid. Some scuffs but a...

My thoughts

Congrats on reaching 40! In about 4 more years you'll be 60, trust me on that! haha
KKJ is very likely the most accurate for the weight of any .22 bolt. The single stage trigger is kinda soggy no...

The best was.......

4.5x14 leupold with the AO. One inch tube. It went down to about 20 yards. Keep a eye out for them. Best all around scope made. The current 3x9 is very good but has that "tatical" turrent on it that...

Shoot 'em in the other end haha

I shoot them always in the heart/lung area right behind the shoulders. No meat loss. I usually avoid head shots as a "miss" sometimes blows the nose off and they get away. Bad feeling when that...

I"ve got one

Love that little sucker. Mine is very accurate. I'm talking take a rest and slow shoot high quality ammo and it impresses me. The bore is excellent. Great looking rifling. The velocity is a stunner...

Get a Leupold EFR

Midway has 'em with a 25 gift card so they end up costing 275. As far as the AO goes just set it and forget it when hunting. Is there if you want it, like cruise control on a car.
My Leupold...

re barrel a 1517 to .22 mag?

How much of a issue is it for a gunsmith to put a .22 mag tube on a 1517 action? I see these deals on the 1517 but I'm not sold on the round. I have always wanted a light, 22mag with a SS barrel and...

Camster is right as usual buuuuuuuuut

For a killer deal you can use it but it won't be comfortable. You'll be putting your check on the edge of the rollover. The stock on my 1422 was also slightly cast off, just a tad. You could alter...

noise level

I have two scouts. A 455 and a 452. The 455 barrel is threaded on the end and the 452 isn't. The 455's barrel is 17 inches long and the 452's is 16. Both are louder than a standard 22" barrel but not...

barrel markings

Does it say "1700 FWT" on the barrel? Mine is in what I call a black stock. If it really is a 1700 FWT it's pretty rare and should bring about what the current ones bring even if it's used some. I...

Good shooting sales and service has it

Owned by the Munchkin. I try to buy from her when I can. I like buying from smaller online dealers. A extra buck or two is usually offset by faster and friendly service.:bthumb:

BKL one piece

The sell a nice 30mm one piece ring. Very secure. Some folks balk at having to spread them with the screws to get them to slide on but I like that.

great pic!

Hey there fellow KY annie shooter. I have the black and the "tan" McMillian stocks. The tan is the one that Champ choice sold and it's molded in. The black is on a 1700fwt. Woof! I think the black...

You don't seat a magazine and think you have and rack the slide. It doesn't grab a round out of the magazine and you think it has. You point at the target and "click". Pretty easy to do with a...

I have both.

No doubt the little 4 incher is a easy carry and cute. Very accurate. I really can't tell that much difference. However the 5 1/2 inch is quieter. It is also much more powerful and when I put them to...

Have you checked the auction sites?

You can get a deal or a dud there. Champions Choice was where I got my 1712. They used to put them in McMillan stocks, that is what I got but now I think they don't do that anymore.

lighter weight go for a 1712

The ones that are lighter have the shorter threaded barrel. Frankly I would stick with the longer barrel.

For your use I would just get the 3x9 leupold rimfire version and some BKL rings. The...

I use a CZ

Its a Brno double barrel 12 shotgun. Two barrels, two trigger, two everything. Very well made. I've not cut the barrel down yet but that was the intent. Load it up with low recoil subsonic shells....

If your going to sell it.......

Leave it stock. I have never seen any "customing" that could be sold for what it cost over a stock gun. My MKII has a darn good trigger on it. I have one with a VQ trigger and they are basically the...

No need for a suppressor

I just use Eley subsonic HP. Not much noise and very effective. RWS subsonic HP is good also. The CCI is not hardly as accurate in my rifles but plenty for hunting and very common.

double group?

Sounds like a scope/mount issue. Check to make sure everything is tight. Eley HV HP are pretty darn accurate in my CZs. But my standard is CCI mini mag HP.
