Chamber, crown, and quality of rifling are all more important than thickness. I would even say that ammo choice is more important than thickness.

Buy yourself a good barrel and get to the range...

Clean the mags while your at it, if not they'll give you problems too.

Aguila is good ammo for the money, and is actually cleaner than Wolf MT.

I'll take a thin barrel any day over a fat bull. I can't steady a heavy barrel offhanded, too nose heavy. Handle both and see what feels the best.
