A few years ago I got a really nice Marlin 88 at a gun show for $110.
It runs fine and is a hoot to shoot, being a 'full sized' gun.

As Walnut Bill said, they can be a challenge to put together. Once you figure out the sequence it isn't bad at all. The 72 is a great little rifle.

I had one in the early 70's. Cool little gun, very light. Eventually the novelty wore off and the reality of ammo 2-3x as expensive as LR took over so I sold it. Too much for a teenage budget.
