price

Squirrel rifle

Intending to have a .22LR rifle, with which I can place 95% of my shots on a 2” circle at 100yds. Well, maybe it’s me, in fact pretty well sure that it is.

Using either my Winchester 52 with a 5x...

Until yesterday ...

Until yesterday, I’d’ve said my Winchester m52 is my most accurate .22 rifle ... now it appears the Izhmash Biathlon-7-2-KO is just as accurate. Meaning either the ammo or the trigger nut is the...

Zero’d

Yesterday morning, I zero’d the scope. The stock needs a bit more length yet ... I expect to have that done by Friday. Then if I am doing as well as yesterday, some photos.

What was clear: this...

Weaver side-mount 2

Brownell’s just told me that they’re out-of-stock, but gave me the Weaver part number. Using that in DuckDuckGo, the first hit was ... you guessed it:

Amazon.com

... has them, marketed as an...

My main objective is one-shot, one-kill on small game at <=100yds. The quick, straight-throw action does have a great feel. Had never shot it before yesterday. And it’ll take a little work in...

Much improved.

Using a more suitable reticle has made a big difference. Even after negligently drinking far too much coffee with breakfast, got squirrel-head sized groups this morning with CCI Standard Velocity. ...

Problem solved.

Today mounted a 4-16x50 scope on it and was shooting some very small groups at 100yds; this with the first load tried and 'way too wired on caffeine. Some tweaking of the scope; no caffeine; and...

Izhmash biathlon-7-2-KO, essential accuracy / precision?

How inherently accurate / precise are these Izhmash biathlon-7-2-KO rifles?

Asking in order to pick an appropriate 'scope for mine. Trying to get a scope >=20x mounted on my currently favorite...

After: with VX-Freedom 1.5-4x20. As well-made as is this telescopic sight, the rifle deserves more magnification power. But had a great time, again, yesterday using the old Lyman aperture. New...

Pre-stamped ‘A’

According to Houze, mine is from the stretch between making the rev ‘A’ mods and starting to add the ‘A’ to the receiver markings. That written, I’m told it has some custom sight-mounting mods. So...

Already works with aperture and ‘scope

‘Scope and aperture are working, ‘scope mounted and working alongside the aperture for about a year. The aperture is pretty much non-optional: when teaching for BSA, gotta use irons. And, sadly,...

Winchester 52, co-witness: help?

Looking to preserve co-witness but have high magnification. This is mostly a question about ‘scoping a rifle; but the rifle in question is a Winchester Model 52; so hopefuly it makes sense to post...
