Nice
Very cool. In some cases, the original box, especially with original paperwork, is worth almost as much as the gun. Great find!

VQ mount
The theory for the VQ barrel mount, as I see it, is to make sure barrel droop is eliminated from the game. The scope will be looking where the barrel is pointed regardless of barrel/receiver droop. ...

Put 50 rds of 33 gr VMax through one of mine today. The inner extractor was removed years ago and the groove has not been filled. The gun shoots both WMR and HMR with just a barrel change and has...

Sorry
Sorry I can't help you with that. One of the first pieces of advice I got here was remove the 2nd extractor from your magnum. I didn't have 10 rds through my first one at that time. I've been here...

I wouldn't expect many replies from people using both "extractors". Removing the inner one has been a common practice for many years.

I was expecting a lower scoring game with Cole and Scherzer pitching. Now, who knows?
Very cool that you and your grandson got to share that experience.

Barrel droop
I like the barrel droop theory. Lots of guys get hung up on the idea that the barrel has to be free floated like many other rifles. Not so with a 10/22. Look at the method Ruger uses for attaching...

Buffers
Long ago but not so far away in the land of Rimfire Central, 10/22s were often referred to as "click-clacks". Then along came the buffer to replace the steel pin!
