Well here in OH it is shotgun slugs,muzzleloader,or straight walled pistol of .38 or bigger.That being said,I consider .243 borderline sized for deer.A .22lr will kill a deer...

I polished the receiver (and trigger %%%.)by stripping it with Easy-off oven cleaner,and then proggressively finer sandpaper of 600,1000,and 1500.Then Flitz metal polish to finish.

I ran a patch...

Yes,they would do the same thing.The above link makes sense about possibly losing the nitro charge.Although I never have after doing somewhere around 6 or 7 scopes.But I've never had to "break loose"...

I'm always tinkering with things and figured this out many years ago,but never see it talked about, so here goes=On every scope I've ever had that did not have an adjustable objective the parallax...
