The band is the 52B's way of tuning your barrel. If you remove the screw that holds the band, you'll see that it's wedge shaped; you screw in/out for a tighter/looser "grip" on the barrel. My...

I put an Olympic on my 513-T, but it takes a different base than the one that accommodates a Redfield 75. Steve Earle has them. The item description doesn't specify it anymore, but its for use...

My dad in in his 80's too. We go shooting together most Sundays. Spend the time with your dad, as much as you can.

Also, the .30-06 is a fine choice for a cartridge.

I paid $450 for mine. I don't often see these classics in my area (Jacksonville, Florida). It's in very nice shape, was manufactured in 1953, and is one of my favorites. The trigger's a bit stiff...

Here's my best target with my 513T. It is at fifty yards with a standard A-23 target using Lapua Center-X.

The rifle was manufactured in 1953. Other than being in good shape, it's nothing...

I have a 513T that performs very well (and sometimes amazingly well) off the bench. It gives me 1/2" groups regularly at fifty yards using Lapua Center-X, and the stock seems comfortable enough just...

I agree. Clean up--but don't paint--the stock if you like. My stock just has a simple oil-type finish. These are great rifles, and the other comment is correct: sights do in fact come up on eBay....

513T trigger question

The trigger on my 513T is stiff--about 3.5-4 lbs. The two screws on the underside of the trigger, do they adjust trigger pull or just travel? I don't want to just go changing things without knowing...

Stevens 416 sight question

Does anyone know if Lyman or Redfield made a rear sight that will work with the Stevens 416 without additional drilling/tapping?

You're right: the 58E is taller, but I already have a Red-75 with the correct base. Also, 58E's seem to be rare (at least on eBay where I do my shopping for such things) and a lot pricier.

My first target rifle was a 75 made in 1942. Still have it, of course. My only (slight) criticism is not with the rifle, but with the sights: a 57E with a 17 on the front. This combination is...

Remington 34 questions:

Greetings all,

I'm looking at a Remington model 34 and am wondering: (1) how do I determine if it's an NRA model (the seller claims that it is); and (2) what is the prevailing market price...

Thoughts on 144LSB

1. It's not a Win52 or even a 75.
2. I did not care for the fact that you had to remove the rear sight to remove the bolt, so I had the receiver drilled and tapped to accept a Rem513T base and use...

Stevens 416 front sight apertures

Greetings all,

I have a Stevens 416 with the "mailbox" front sight. My question is this: Did Stevens stock these with additional apertures of different sizes?

One more thing...
