The factory mag holds 9 bullets and fits flush. The BX adds a mere 6 more rounds and juts out 4 inches from the gun. 6 rounds for 4 inches? I'll pass.

Yes, that is what I was asking! Glad to hear that simply removing the extractor is the key. I suppose if you left it in you would run the risk of bolt cracking?

You'd have to check the measurement but Weigland makes one for the Ruger Mini-14 as well as the Deerfield .44 carbine. They call it the Weig-A-Tinny mount.

Ruger 10/22 magnum has the scope mount machined into the receiver. The only rings you can use are made by Ruger and easily obtained as in the above link.

Let's see if they put in the same style pin with the hole in it. They should put in the Mark III solid pin (what I did), but I think they'll probably put in another breakage prone Mark IV pin.

OEM take-off stocks in unused condition are widely available on eBay and Gunbroker at ridiculously low prices. People replace them with aftermarket stocks apparently.
