I have a Leupold VXIII 4.5-14 x 40 AO on My Ruger American .22 WMR simply because it was an extra that I had on hand. The AO isn't absolutely necessary, but it sure is nice.:bthumb:

Yes, the KMK512 is my all-time favorite. A lot of shooters are partial to the Government 6 7/8 inch bbl model, but I personally prefer the 5 1/2 inch barrel.

I think purple locktite is the least permanent...

I think purple locktite is the least permanent one available and I would use that. If and when I needed to remove the screws I would use some heat on them before trying to remove them.
