I have not had this happen, but I also mount the screws on the left side like alum572. Seems you can either modify the parts to make clearance, or switch how the rings are mounted.

I would recommend adding an EGW rail. It extends forward of the receive so that I you can get proper eye relief for the scope when in prone or seated shooting.

Yup, the mouse toilet falling off causes hammer follow because the trigger linkage gets loose and the little "L" shaped bracket that causes the disconnect can't push far enough to trip the disconnect...

That sure sounds like the mouse toilet has come off. Happened to me with the same symptoms. The result is that the linkage between the trigger and the sear is loose and reset doesn't happen properly....

It will fit fine. The heavy barrel channel will give you a good free float. The receiver is the same for all 22LR 597's.
