The worst.......

King Cotton Peach wine, Olympia Beer and Gin! Maybe not the worst, but certainly in the top 10! Back in the day, the King Cotton Peach wine was about $1.50 a bottle! When I was in the SeaBees, mostly...

FP strike

The Winchester falling block rifle was an 1885, not 95. Unless the firing pin was damaged or changed, their strike does not look like that. Whatever it had been fired in had probably been to the...

The first rimfire............

Was a single shot bolt action rifle marked as a "Shapleigh King Nitro". My grandfather bought it new about 1930 or so. I think it was actually a Stevens but was not marked as such! For a long time,...

Just one...............

I'm partial to my Ruger 1022 Target with a Tactical Solutions alloy 16" barrel and open sights. However, if I had the need to shoot at 100 yds or better then I would need a scope thrown into the mix....

Single Shot Winchester

Yep, I'm kinda partial to my 1885 Low Wall in .22 Magnum. A rifle that I built about 35 or 40 years ago! It even has a single set trigger that cuts the trigger pull weight in half!

A picture of original magazines for the Colt Woodsman Match Target 2nd model and for the FN 150 / Browning Medalist pistols. This little assortment of magazines is worth a small fortune ($1,000.00 or...

Magazine or clip?

I always heard that rifles like the M1 Garand used an enbloc "clip". The 1895 Lee Navy used a "clip" to load the "magazine". The Springfield O3 used a 5 rd "clip" to load the rifle's magazine....

Just picked up another Browning 22 magazine! That makes 5 including the one that came with the pistol! I think I am done buying Browning Medalist/FN150 magazines! The 4 I bought separately I got for...

A good hand...........4 of a kind!

I picked up an FN150 (same as Browning Medalist International) about 3 months ago with the intention of using it for steel plate matches. At the time, I did not realize just how scarce (or pricey)...

I think it was in the low 50's when I got up about 6:30 this morning. By noon it was over 70 and headed towards 80! Can't wait for summer to get here!

Buying procedures...........

Same process here in Georgia. Walk in, pick one out, show your CC, pay and walk out! Maybe 30 minutes if you "shop" a bit first!

Tube mag guns...........

I only have one tube magazine 22 rifle, a Remington Nylon 66. To reload it quickly, I have some small clear plastic tubes that hold up to about 15 rounds each. Come loading time the routine is to 1)...

The third factory mag showed up in the mail today. I was surprised because it had to come all the way from the left coast! Pretty nice, just slightly used. Between the 3 factory mags and the 3...

Home on the range...........

I did just that this morning. I grabbed some bits and pieces around the shop and made a pellet trap and then spent an hour or so blasting away (poofing away?) with a Beeman Tempest pellet pistol. I...

I have been looking for extra magazines for my recently acquired FN 150 .22 target pistol, you know the ones that also fit the Browning Medalist made of unobtanium? Well, a recently acquired friend...

22 Rifle................

Based on your punch list, I think a Winchester Model 69 or 69A would fill the bill nicely. They were made in America, they are not heavy, most have quite nice triggers and many came with semi target...
