Not a good idea to use a belt sander for a trigger job. Maybe smooth the rounded bottom of the hammer that rides against the sear or contour and smooth the rear of the bolt, but definitely stay away...

I agree with you on the looks of the factory guns. I think the aftermarket receivers are squared off since it easier and cheaper to machine than the contours of the cast Ruger receiver.
