Wax melts when heated.
Quality oil and an occasional wipe down and your guns finish will outlast you.
Do not store in foam.

You betcha, had KMart Marlin Glenfield 60 from the 1970's was a fun gun. Shot accurate enough for its use and would only need to be cleaned every 2500 rounds or so when it would began to jam....
