Thanks for the advice but was too late for the one on GB. I did measure my front swivel and it is 1 1/4". The date code is "O F", so I assume it is a July 1959 mfr date. Well, now I know what to look...

Oops! This was a Mossberg 42, wrong place. He actually had a Marlin model 88 also. It had a cracked stock and light rust on the finish. Looking for value, mfgr dates, and any other info.
