The pin is definitely too small. There is no way it should be able to move that much once the trigger is installed in the stock. I think they must have put the wrong pin back in when they reassembled...

I have nothing against Brimstone. I think they do a great job at reworking the OEM trigger. But you can only improve so much on OEM equipment. And while the tier 2 from Brimstone isn't a bad trigger...

Most of my 10/22's use medium height rings with a few exceptions. A lot of brands IME the lows are too low for most scopes on a 10/22 with a .920 barrel. YMMV
