Jackson I don't think the splotches are mineral, at least most of them. I believe this rifle has deep oil stains from setting too long with way too much oil on the metal parts which seeped or wicked...

Been using 40 gr Vmaxs over 10+ grs Blue Dot, low report, cheap, and very accurate. No signs of excessive pressure at all. Good for the kids and helps the old man with his flinchin problem.
