Squirrels are surprisingly tough. Almost any .22 ammo will stop them cold with a head shot. Anywhere else on their body and adrenaline will carry them quite a ways. And IMO, .22mags will destroy some...

.ost of my .22's have AO scopes on them. There are some good air rifle scopes out there yhat will parallax adjust down to 10 meters or so, as do some Vortex models.

I'm with the guy using carburetor and fuel injector cleaner. Just be a little careful. Long term contact with some plastic parts can melt them.

I prefer subsonic because it's quieter. Doesn't scare every squirrel for a mile around. I use CCI std velocity or Eley Target.

That's why good quality airgun scope are nice. SWFA and Vortex also have a lot of scopes that AO down to 10 yards or so.
