Be extremely careful if you plan to shoot solid bullet construction in shotguns, some shotgun actions are not rated for such use. I wish that weren't the case - I have some single shot designs where...

Thanks Gerald, I am unfamiliar with that model. Glad to hear CZ Brod is still tweaking the original design. :)

Wouldn't it be nice if they introduced a Brno #1 sporter in original configuration...

I paid $2.06 for plain unleaded at a local Valero down in the RGV, hard up against the U.S. / Mexico border last night. Most prices I see are in the $2.11 - $2.15 range.

Thanks for the posted details . . .

. . . I had no idea of two different safetied versions of that rifle. I wonder why Winchester decided to do that ? I had a 30-06 Govt. chambered rifle in that model, non carbine and I'm pretty sure...

For me, the Remington catalog full color ads are da bomb. Those surplus Sherwood Arms - Ye Olde Hunter ads are very cool too. The gun rags from the 1960's are full of such stuff - cool beans !

What a great idea to honor this model . . .

. . . its almost becoming a mythical unicorn of sorts. :) I still have mine, purchased from Denny way back when. (2005 ?) I rarely shoot it, as it is so beautiful to me (I won't sing the song I...

"People in 1900 mostly had to live in what we would consider filthy conditions today." Agreed for most part. Non conditioned air (no A/C) meant windows were open and screen door openings allowed...

152 Sharpfinger - Oh yeah, nice score there . . .

:bthumb: That and the 156 OT Lil' Finger make a good fixed bladed compact woods knife.

I use Quiets during deer season around camp when I want to plink around camp in my Brno #1 and Scout. I read the caution of Quiets in past years and decided to avoid the risk in my longer Ultralux. ...

I rarely have that problem with rimfire, and centerfire is kept in the bag until completely used up. Shotgun ammunition - yes, my habit when just woodsloafing is pulling out a few rounds rather than...

Interesting topic (for some) . . .

. . . Dad was partial to Bama Apple Jelly for some reason. Occasionally Grape, but apple was his 'brand' of sorts. Clear (jelly), jam (fruit parts)was rarely purchased in our household. I never...

For me, the size of target would determine if a variable is needed . . .

Both my scoped .22 Magnum rifles have fixed 4x scopes on top of them. I considered lower power models, but figured with the extra range of the magnum, it could be needed at longer distances on small...

Standard Mfg. - Thunderstruck .22 Magnum DOUBLE ??

One strange looking puppy, but most double barreled handguns are a bit quirky. :)

Never seen this one before

I have a few of the China made Taylor knives . . .

. . . and have had no issues with the quality of the knife itself. The sheaths though - not made with same care as the U.S.A. manufactured sheaths, but that is probably just a 'not made like they...

Hard to improve on the original 30.06 / 12 Gauge duo . . .

Combination rifle/shotgun single shots used to be available if a single firearm was desired. We hardly ever use shotguns for small game though, at least in our locale.

I like single .410s too . . .

. . . a fine choice for woods roaming with no particular purpose, if only to be armed 'just in case'. My 1st shotgun was a Savage 94Y, which taught me how to miss flying birds quite well. :p Broke...

Outbuilding, I may be mistaken, but . . .

. . . the inverted BUCK tang stamp I think signifies the knife was built in 1972. Most other Buck knife tang stamps are read with handle down orientation. I purchased a 103 Skinner with similar...

Well, I've added a couple of knives in the interim . . .

. . . Spyderco C33 Pro-Grip, C106 Tasman Salt, C91 Pacific Salt (used), and a C156 Southard. This was over a couple of months - those Spydercos really take a bite and hold on ... :)

My condolences as well . . .

. . . I've had a few buys go sour on me as well over the years. It really sucks when a 'grail knife' ends up gone missing due to snafu. A couple lost in the mail :mad: (Paid for those and no...

Nice knife. :bthumb: Kershaws are a good value - I am rarely disappointed with them.

I found a CRKT Squid with blackwash finish on liquidation at our local Academy right after Christmas. $10....
