$250 was a good price. It was on consignment so the owner only got $200 for it. I've gotten several really good deals on rimfire guns in that store, all on consignment.

I like my 39A but after shooting the 39M I prefer it, not that I'll be getting rid of either. I'm not hugely fond of the straight grip but it's not a big enough deal to seek out a 39D.

Thanks.
I don't blame you for not selling yours. These older Marlins are great all-around rifles and worth holding on to. I got my 39A in 2009 for $400 after browsing gun store racks for about 10...

Stumbled upon a 1982 Mountie today

Correction: It appears the proper term for this rifle is just 39M, not Mountie. But it's close enough for me.

I was at the range testing a few pistols with my SilencerCo Octane today. As I...

I did some swapping of extractors and none of them really seemed to work in the slide. But the new extractor didn't move well in other slides either. I don't know what to make of it.

I also got a...

Results were pretty good

I shot 100 rounds through it this afternoon, Isosceles stance at 30 feet, just for functional test. I had a lot of failures to go into battery and a few failures to eject in the first 25 rounds....

Finally found one after 10+ years...but some issues
