My 597 will cycle Stingers fine, but they also group horribly. In fact, with my 597 I have noticed that the faster the ammo, the worse it groups. See my post here:...

Right now, I use Remington Subsonic 22 ammo (40 grain, lead round nose hollow point, printed velocity of 1050 fps) pretty much exclusively. I really like them in my 597 LS HB. They're quieter than...

Paco Tool--feeding question

Hello there,

I’m interested in Paco Kelly’s accurizing tool, and would like to know how “Paco’d” rounds feed in a clip-fed semi-auto (a Rem. 597, if you’re wondering). Does it work at all, or do...

FINAL UPDATE: THANKS TO ALL!

I ran 80 rounds through the gun last night, and had about 3 jams, none of which were in either of my two Rem. 3rd gen. mags. (They happened in my MSR 30-round...

Well, thanks for the input everyone. I have disassembled and cleaned the action, checked the action rods and found them to be true, lubed the action with light gun oil, and adjusted the set screws...

I have no clue at all about damaging the action. BUT, for what it's worth, my personal 597 HB get's less accurate with hyper-velocity rounds; your mileage may vary. I agree with the post above...

Remington 597 jamming

Hello there everyone, I have a Remington 597 HB, and it jams about every 5-8 rounds or so, on any ammo at all, although some brands are worse than others. The main ammo I feed it is CCI Mini-mag 40...

Do you guys know if hi-cap 597 mags are available in Canada? I just recently got a 597 and would like to get hi-capacity magazine for it if that is possible.

Okay, thanks a lot everyone. I'm quite new at all this stuff, but I would prefer not to have to buy an additional hammer and all that. What Toxicsports is talking about seems be what I'm after, if...

Adjusting stock 597 triggers?

Hello all, I just recently got a 597 target (brown laminated stock, 20" blued heavy barrel). So far I'm liking it, although I don't even think I have 200 rounds through it yet. However, the trigger...

Okay, thanks. I had sort of figured that a heavier barrel would be easier to hold steady. I did find out what you mentioned about standard 597s shooting well. I also went to the Remington website...

597: standard vs. heavy barrel.

Hello there, do any of you find any difference in accuracy between 597s (.22 lr, btw) that have standard or heavy barrels? I'm just curious. Also, all the Remington 597s have the "last shot bolt...

Whichever I get, I am planning to put a 3-9x40 scope on it, so I think that would help make the 795 a little easier to be accurate with, right?

Jimmygun, I would really like to get a 7000, but it...

It's my understanding that the magazines for the Savage Model 64 are made of steel; at least, that's what the flyer for S.I.R. and Wholesale Sports say. I'm also considering a Model 64 myself; my...

All right, I think I'll see if I can get a 7000 and a spare 10-shot clip for it; if not, I'll try for the 795, again with a spare 10-clip. Thanks very much for all the information and helpfulness,...

Yes, pmullineaux, you're right. I just checked the Marlin website, and didn't see the 7000 there, although I did see the 795 on there. How does the 795 compare to the 60 in terms of accuracy?

Caliber would be 22 long rifle; sorry for not mentioning that. Reason is mainly cheapness (and variety) of ammo. Actually, the Model 795 and Model 7000, as far as I know, are still being currently...
