Next time try posting here on the Free Classified Ads for a couple of weeks and see if you can't get what you consider to be a fair price for your rimfire items. I know I have had good success...

Mauser 22

Robin,
Nice rifle. Hurts a little to see the moisture on it. Please don't put it next to your Brnos in the vault......they might fight.

Mis-matched Bolt

Most likely your bolt has been switched with another rifle. Fortunately, this does not detract much from the desirability of a Model 1 except by serious collectors.

tgf

MagnumWheelMan,

That is a very nice example of a Brno Model 1 tgf. I would say that the butt plate is original to the stock. The stock may have been switched out at some point as most were stocked...

Based on small changes made during production, I think all the tgf guns were made in 1949 or 1950. Also I have a document that indicates the tgf code was not used until 1949. WCF 35 also came to the...

tgf

Supposedly stands for ""Tschechische Gewehr Fabrik" - a German code for Czech arms - much debate on the origins of these. Likely a 25,000 rifle contract to the East German Military.

Model 1

Given the configuration and the 12,000 serial number, I suspect it will have "tgf" under the front scope ring.............would be nice to know.

Butcher or Baker?

Some will like it for the craftsmanship while others will morn the loss of the original rifle. Quite a nice custom 22 from a 1922 M2. Sold today for $6,000 + buyers premium.

3S

It closed for $1625 - I didn't think it would bring a premium with the non-original stock on it.

James Anderson

This is the 3rd or so super grade .22 rifle that James has done - and I know he has another in the works. He puts his all into everyone of them and they are wonderful when he has finished....

Windage adjustment in the rear position........I would think the levers on the left side.

Model 3

GRG, Without seeing it, it sounds like one of the first 800 Model 3 rifles that had Walnut stocks, checked on the forearm and the odd "nipple" crown. If your serial number is under 900, I would say...

Farmer Model

I do not know how many of the "fat stock" Model 2 rifles were made. I have only seen one for sale and I own it. It is also a 1957 so maybe they were only produced in the first year. Sales may not...

DW
Sounds like your Model 2 is also the Farmer Model. It has the fatter stock of Beech and a steel butt plate.

I think the rifles with the Model 2 action have the best potential due to the stiffer receiver. Having said that, all models have sweet specimens that shoot well. My most accurate is a 1957 “Farmer...

Not an ES350b

It is not an ES350b - It is an ES340B. The ES350 series had plastic Mauser butt plates and checkered stocks. The steel codes were the same. MS350b rifles were also stamped with ES350 on the barrel...

You are correct, those little hoods are the crown on a collector grade rifle. I would think the rear sight is worth close to $200.

Beautiful Mauser MM410b Parts Gun

Another sad story. I ended up with this really nice MM410b - very clean and great condition. The bad part is that the bolt is not only altered, it is a bolt for a single shot Mauser - likely it was...

Model 37

Your photos did not make the trip. I doubt that it is '36 as I always thought the first year of production was '37.

Rings

Thank you BRP. The scope is a pristine Zeiss Zelmar from the 30s. It has the sleeve; however the tube bells out to .980 (from about .865?) I am not sure the rings will spread that much.

Mauser Scope Rings

Well, I may have answered part of my questions as I found a picture of these exact rings in Speed's book. Still need to know:
1. What is the approx. value of these rings?
2. How do I get the rear...

Mauser Scope Rings?

I purchased these rings with a B series Mauser 22. I have been told they may have been made by Mauser. They are similar, but not exactly like some old AKAH rings I saw once. I cannot find a set on...

The Muzzle
The bolt body (handle was blued)
The extractor
The cocking piece (sticks out of the bolt...
