Expecting the same trigger issues when my new one gets here in a couple days. Already have a different trigger spring and bolt shim kit waiting. Part of the fun is making it better.

I spoke with a rep from Ruger a couple weeks back. At that time the the 24" model was no longer in production. They still had the 20" walnut stock, and the 18.5" green laminate stock 17 WSM versions...

Just an update. I won't be the one doing any testing on the 18.5" barrel Ruger. Ended up buying a 24" model that had some better than average character to the wood, in pics anyway. Haven't picked it...

Went to the gun show today and I'm still without a 17 wsm. Not a large show. 1 Ruger 24". 1 Savage Bmag in laminate, 1 in tupperware. No Ruger with 18.5 barrel. Wont be chronographing one this week.

Good point! Just a curiosity thing. Plan on using the new rifle, whatever it turns out to be, for predators and prairie dogs. Accuracy is my first objective.

Called Ruger for some info. If anyone has looked on the website, they no longer list the 77/17 with a 24" barrel and it is in deed fact it is no longer offered by them. It is the 20" and 18.5" only....
