Thanks so much for introducing...

a really stupid Christian political hate topic into a firearms forum. It really improves the overall tone of the CZ portion of RimfireCentral.

I didn't eat at Chick Fil A today and won't do so...

Late to this thread...

but maybe better late than never. One thing I have not heard directly addressed is weight. I am guessing that the OP is shooting at the USI range in Concord, CA. He should be aware that rigid...

I don't understand what your problem is with the..

V24. I have one on my American and have no problem adjusting elevation out to 150 yards with subsonic ammunition.

Don't poo poo an old Diana air rifle...

Coming from a country where springers were virtually unknown until the 80's, I can only wish I had an old Diana for my first air rifle, instead of the POS Crosman 760 that I had. I still have two...

Indeed he is Gerald...

But alas, these days he usually prefers doing his shooting on the computer rather than in real life. When we go up to our family place in the Sierras, I can typically get him to come out to do some...

Sometimes, when you buy a gun you don't know...

at the time that you are not actually buying it for yourself. I bought my son a Scout when he was about 7 , then when he reached 9, he decided he liked my American better, so I gave it to him and...

It never ceases to amaze me...

what absurd prices some people think their firearms are worth. $600.00 to $700.00 on that gun... maybe. $1800.00 is just laughable.

Ahhh... the Yellow.

I spent a great deal of time there several years ago. A few will remember me there, some with fondness, others, not so much. I can assure you there is much less drama over here on RimfireCentral,...

Your 12 gauge Wingshooter....

Is not made by either CZ or Brno (or even Bruno). It is made in Turkey by Huglu.

Oddly the seller does not mention barrel length or choke on the shotgun barrels. I also think he is dreaming on...

If the CZs are cast, this is the first I have ever heard about it

I believe they are machined from billets, not castings. As far as better, I suspect the only real difference may be in the tolerances held. The current (or used-to-be-current) model 452 is...

The markings on the #1 Brnos are a never-ending...

source of surprise to me. I have three of them and all have the older, band style front sight. The gun I shoot the most is pretty clearly marked "50" after the crossed sword proof mark, so my...

I don't know what part of California the OP is in...

but in my part, the SF Bay Area, CZs are pretty popular. There are even a fair number of #1s floating around my club, but I have to admit, I am probably responsible for all of them being there as...

The Widners guns were of various conditions. I saw some with really terrible wood and some with wood about on par with the CAI guns from a few years back.
I turned a buddy of mine on to one of...

Quiet .22LR out of a #1

Just got a brick of CCI Quiet .22LR ammunition and tried a little out in the backyard today. Just informal shooting, only a few rounds but I think it is plenty accurate and also plenty quiet.

I second Whittakers....

They are huge and have a LOT of firearms out on the floor for you to look at and handle. Don't know how they are on scopes, but I have purchased rings from them and they used to carry the original...

I have never seen a BRNO mag with either markings or serial numbers. When you consider that the vast majority of the guns we are getting in the U.S. are actual military trainers, it is quite...

The 453 single set trigger is certainly NOT a two stage unit and I got rid of mine because it would not adjust to a light enough pull weight without making it so the bolt pulls out of the gun when...

If you apply whiting to an open grain, dark colored wood like walnut you are likely to end up with whiting lodged in the pores of the wood that you may never be able to get rid of. It looks...

will agree that he is one of a kind. Not everyone, however, agrees with the notion that it is acceptable to introduce a political smear into an otherwise positive thread. I'd also like to point out...

Widners does in fact ship to CA...

A buddy of mine here in the Bay Area got one of the $209.00 Brno #1s out of this last shipment. You just have to have a dealer on this end to receive it. My guess is that you were looking at...

What Brno do you have Pickles?

One of the #1s from this last lot? If so, do you have the single stage or 2 stage trigger in it? If the 2 stage, it should be just a matter of adjusting. If the single stage trigger, then look for...

While whiting will indeed soak up oil...

I wouldn't use it on a dark, porous wood like Walnut. I'd use mineral spirits, then acetone to dilute the oil that has soaked into the wood, then blot it up with paper towels, then do it some more....
