Interesting question, I doubt that there is any difference comparing equal barrel lengths, can't see that the slimmer tapered Standard's barrel would be less accurate than the Target's bull barrel....

My semi educated guess is that the tensioned barrel can be the problem, from what people post it seems to be a bit of a lottery, note too that no proven accurate gun uses a tensioned barrel.
