That's great! Most of the places I can hunt are of the "after deer season" variety too. I do have a nice WMA close by but get kind of nervous during deer season there.

Is there a raised boss on the bottom of the tang for the screw to thread into? If not, then there would be no way to secure the stock to the receiver unless some type of wood screw was used.

I held a ruler vertical to the tang and slid it until it just touched the curved part of the trigger guard and the measurement was 3 1/8 (3.125) inches.
