My 52 is a 1956 born C. So far, it is partial to some Federal 900B. Shoots 3/8 inch or less at 25. I have a limited supply of that ammo so I am going to try some Wolf and some SK.

Serial numbers on 74's with peep sight?
I am curious about the 74's with the peep sight. Mine has the last three digits of the serial number 88A. Did all serial numbers on the 74's with the 88A peep end in 88A or is mine just a coincidence?

A question about differences in Model 74 springs.
I have a 1940 Model 74 and a 1951 Model 74. The 51 has the trigger spring with the hooks on the end. The 40 has a spring with the ends turned down at a 90 degree angle, no hook. It allows the spring...

Brought home a Model 74 peep sight rifle.
I picked up a Model 74 at a local show today. I had never seen one with a peep attached to the rear of the bolt. Nice condition. Happy man.
