My 77/22 will not chamber Stingers. I believe some of the 77/22 have a shorter chamber. When chambering Stingers the bullet jams into the rifling.

I changed it to a 50 degree angel with a box of sand under it. I have shot .22, 38, 9mm, 45 with no harmful results.

My Bushnell 3x9 is so close that it actually rubs if you hold the bolt handle up while cycling. Seems to work alright if you use your fingers instead of trying to use your fist to cycle the bolt.

I have the same rifle. When I purchased the rifle I had a hard time holding 1" groups at 25 yds. I was using CCI Maxi Mag +V. I sent the rifle back to Ruger and they had it a week and sent it back....

Why doesn't someone make 22 mag ammo designed like the .17?
That way 22 mag shooters could have the accuracy of the .17.
I'm guessing it has to do with the diameter to length ratio.
