Problems

First off swirl remover isn't gonna cut it and rotatory with a drill is the perhaps the wrong path to take. On a gun that is otherwise 100% reliable extraction problems are usually from a rough...

got one

I wouldn't use it to replace my dedicated benchrest set up but as a varmint top it's great. I like it better than the bull bag for rimfire.

Colectors values

Anything you do to a highly collectible firearm will reduce it's value somewhat. Removing blueing is not a good idea on a collectible. If this is a 99.9% gun any blueing removal will be a bad thing....

Not a simple answer

So when my wife started out she bought a Caldwell. First trip to the range she shot good groups but didn't like the windage adjustment. I made a new top for it ( basically a Fudd copy) and while her...

Who's doing the chambering.

Like any custom barrel a good one will shoot really well but personally I think they are harder to get a good chamber on than a 3 or 4 groove barrel. If your doing it yourself be sure to have a good...

Flip a coin

The BM 2 groove 16.5 twist shoots fine in cool temps., the 17.5 not so much. I prefer the 3 groove to work with. Shilen Ratchet is always a good choice. Barrels are somewhat of a crap shoot when it...

But

There's no reason you can't be competitive with a top of the line Chacon 10/22 in IR50/50, especially at a club level, after all in theory your gun only has to be able to shoot 25 round into a .472...

If your serious about NRL check out Vudoo, Rem 700 bedding pattern so lots of stock choices. Spendy but probably the best in that field right now. For something less niche specific and a whole lot...

The problem with the 52 reamer isn't that it's tight but that it's short. If your rifle doesn't have enough closing cam you have to physically push forward on the bolt to chamber the round. Ideally...

Boil it

You might try boiling the receiver in distilled water and turn the rust into blueing. I don't know if this will affect the chemical case coloring but I have done it on old shotgun parts with light...

If you are getting FTFs you have an ignition or headspace problem. That alone will give you low fliers, particularly with lots of ammo that are already on the low side of compatibility with your...
