10/22 Buttplate Replacement?

Anybody have some mods or suggest a replacement for the 10/22 plastic buttplate that is a bit slippery in the offhand positions? Grip tape or ideally a metal replacement?

Yeah, given the setup in stock factory configuration and decent ammo, I can plink and hunt small game out to 50 yards. Keeping it a light handy carbine unscoped is perfect for the woods.
