I have been a great supporter of the 597 the mags have issues but I think overall it is a better platform than those darn 10/22's everyone has.

Do you see any marks where the firing pin is hitting the chamber area of the barrel? I dont know if dry firing is bad for a henry or not but that would be a place to start looking atleast.
