Looks like the extra height of that PC sight will help, but my question would be, can you get the rear sight up high enough to match ?

There is a thread on perfectunions Mini forum about...

Are you guys talking about the RWS "Field Line" HVHP ?
The ones I have are plated. And if you buy them through SG Ammo, they aren't that expensive. $23.95 a for a brick of 500.

Leather might not be as kind to your bluing unless you get a scabbard or case that is suede lined like a good holster.
The longer FL Octagon will give you more choices.
It's harder to find shorter...

Glad you got it figured out, Rex.
Did you say you had replaced the rubber buffer ? I can imagine that those get hard after a few decades, and even worse in cold weather.

I'm lucky in that my 1957...

The WGRS receiver sight is pretty affordable, around $40. It is made of aluminum.
I think the Skinner looks better, is all steel, and is a lot lower, so you don't need such a high front sight. But...

After replacing the firing pin, a chamber burr would have been my next guess.
Dang Rex, you've replaced just about all the internals so far.
Remington should still support the 552 as it's still...

My experiences with M22 were a bit different. I didn't find it particularly dirty and it was above average in the accuracy department.
My issues were severely dented cases, bullets in some cases...

I tried some Remington CBee loads, a 40 grain plated HP @ 710 fps.
Most all of them cycled but a couple didn't.
My older 552 shoots so well with RWS Subsonic HP's that that's all I shoot out of it...

Nice collection, wundudnee.
Does anyone know where I can get shorter rifle cases ?
I've looked at LGS, and online, places like Brownell's, Midway, Natchez, etc.

Most cases are for 44"-46" scoped...

New Appreciation for the 1906

This last summer I bought a refurbished 1906.
The gunsmith that did the work had done a good job. I've had it out a few times and it grouped well with the couple different kinds of ammo I tried.
It...

Skinner sells them too, down towards the bottom of their front sight page.

Roddy, I used a .500" Marbles small brass bead, and it is barely high enough.
