Wonder if that gel heated up and closed in at 25 versus being colder at 300 and retaining the cavity? The cavity at 300 didn't appear until further into the block when the bullet was going slower....

Yes, the Rem. oil, 72.7% CAS 8052-41-3 is Stoddard solvent or Mineral Spirits.
Maybe it thins out the petroleum oil? I bet Rem. oil doesn't smell bad. :)

I agree that saying Rem. oil causes rust...
