Given the fact that the barrel has been damaged, there is a high likelihood that there was other damage that was eliminated by shortening the barrel. Who did the work is anyone’s guess.

I remember reading reviews on these revolvers. As I recall, the posted accuracy was dismal for this cartridge.
For a collector piece, a new one may be fine.
For a shooter, these are a “turkey”.
