Given the fact that the barrel has been damaged, there is a high likelihood that there was other damage that was eliminated by shortening the barrel. Who did the work is anyone’s guess.

They would be too expensive to shoot. To me, the Model 61 is perfect in 22lr.

Used, I would consider a Marlin 39A or a Winchester 9422.

If you want the least expensive, yet still decent rifle you can try a Henry.

I remember reading reviews on these revolvers. As I recall, the posted accuracy was dismal for this cartridge.

For a collector piece, a new one may be fine.

For a shooter, these are a “turkey”.

I usually seem to need the cantilever, extended rails for my scopes to fit the best.
