The only thing different between the A and C that I can recall is they use different trigger guards. The A has the full square end guard and the C has the rounded end trigger guard near the heal.

I also forgot to mention, your rifle was made from a 1939-42. which you can see in the link above. Mine was bought in 1941, the date is scribed in the trigger guard and it came from a family member.
