Please keep us posted on the 76

I have a 102, which I believe is the same gun with a different number. It is great fun to shoot, and I am sure yours will be as well. As far as cosmetics, assume the worst and understand that form...

I chose the B17 and it has served me well. I have had no problems with feeding, firing or ejection. I am still trying different types of ammunition to see what it likes best, but have not been...

The Neos is an update of the half-slide High Standard/Colt/Browning pattern--a nice gun, but the 71 has a history, is out of production, nicely machined and reflects the Beretta style of the late...

I will be inspecting ammo carefully before loading

This may be age related (cartridge, not me) and I believe I will make an effort to scrutinize all rounds before loading.

I am surprised to read about gas venting to the mag, even with an...

new price is about $350

The only one I see on Bud's is a bit more, but it's the inox model. I think I paid $225 for my used specimen with box and 2d mag. They are not rare on the used market, so patience may be rewarded....

My model 21a was bought used, and has functioned well with CCI mini-mags. I apparently have developed a weakness for Berettas, as I have a model 102 target pistol (like a 76), picked up one of the...

Depends on what it is for

I got the BXR 1, because steel is real. I didn't need a lightweight gun for my kind of shooting. I am happy with the one I received. Still trying to find a worthy scope, but I do enjoy shooting it at...

oem mags don't drop

A fellow on The High Road has a video of his dropping, but no indication of what he did to make that happen. Ruger BX-1s worked flawlessly on mine, and the Bergara mag loaded and fed just fine. It...

good experience at first outing

First time in the field today was function testing, and sighting in an old BSA contender variable scope of unknown history. Shots were high and way left initially, but we got settled in at about 40...

The proportions are just right

I couldn't resist, and mine has seen a lot of use. My hand likes the rounded butt and so long as I don't have to counterbalance a long barrel, it all works great. I haven't tried shooting magnums...

Keystone made a chipmunk bolt pistol in 17hmr at one time, but I see they only show LR and WMR now. I picked a 17hmr in walnut up at a pawn shop, but have not shot it enough to speak to accuracy.

Preliminary report

Like a new bike for Christmas, my BXR 1 arrived along with winter storm season. Preliminary observations: packaging is basic cardboard box with a couple foam spacers. No lock, no tools, and a very...

I have been patiently waiting for these to be in circulation. They seem to check all the right boxes for me and I am looking forward to buying one when my supplier has them.

Thank you for the...

GSG 1911 22

I have the shorter 922 model, and have had good luck with it. Purchased used, it occasionally fails to ignite a round, which is probably more to do with tired springs or lack of cleaning or both.

The Savage gets the job done

If a gun is just a tool, the Savage may suffice. Otherwise, the CZ will likely make you happier.

There is cheap and there is over the top

I put a slip on BORK (big ol' rubber knob) on my T3 in 308, and it is the best $7 I have spent on a cheap gun hack. Not only easier to handle, but less likely to bruise or brutalize stuff.

I was...

CZs are good, but there is more to life

I have enjoyed my CZs, but have had fun with 10/22s and Marlin levermatics too. One I am watching now is the Bergara BXR series that the company had planned to release in June.

I have found with...

I have always had a weakness for an inexpensive but serviceable .22 bolt action. I have owned quite a few, and I like my CZ 452 FS, but have traded away or sold way more than I have kept.

I look...

I am looking forward to reviews, but haven't seen anything other than the usual pre-release hype. I hope some new owners will be weighing in here soon, so am signing on to this thread.

there is a sticky on the M&P compact trigger above

Have you checked that out? I like the feel of the gun, but trigger and barrel could stand improvement.

If the CZ doesn't stand out to you

You will probably be perfectly happy with the Ruger. I tried it, got one that wasn't ready for prime time, they replaced it and I sold the replacement without firing a shot. My 452 FS makes me smile...

it's a matter of habit for me

That's the way I was taught. I have used older guns in the past for smallbore comp, etc and I routinely pull trigger before closing bolt for a gun that is being stored. I understand that metallurgy...

I would go for a premium

in 22 LR, assuming non-ridiculous pricing.
