Another way to go about it--

Keep the "normal" barrel with the original twist. Keep the "normal" 40 gr ammo. Get a Paco tool to convert the bullets from round nose to gaping huge hollow point. According to posts here on RFC on...

well, maybe a little bigger than a 6 inch duct

I was thinking something more like 2 or 3 feet square. Might could build it from a stack of cardboard boxes.

One more thing

I recommend you make sure you have good airflow from behind your shooting position and moving toward the target (and exhaust).

Primers can have some nasty chemical byproducts, and your firearm...

Look at ALL the numbers

to river251; I'm not sure how familiar you are with external ballistics and how all that works, but be aware that some cartridges available out there on the market might have glamorous numbers at...

I think you meant----

Mass directly affects the projectile acceleration while inside the barrel. Velocity through the barrel, for a fixed rate of twist, affects the spin rate at the muzzle. Spin, along with other factors...

brillliant quote from Cuomo:

mayor of NYC was just on the natnl news saying that "respirators are to this war on Covid as missile were in WWII"

Missiles were barely used in WWII, and then only by the Nazis in the last parts...

I'd love it

if they scheduled enough broadcast time for games to finish. It really chaps my posterior when I tune in a show and find out that everything is running late or has been completely pre-empted because...

Might be sort of a different topic, but--

I wonder if anybody has tested the accuracy potential of the SSS round (out of a "standard" 1:16 barrel) if the bullet is trimmed a bit.

If a heavy bullet is too much mass (and too slow) for a...

I don't need one, but it is generous of you to offer them.

And I would not apologize one teeny bit for being creative and handy to adapt some similar stand to fit your needs. Not enough of that...

I expect it could be expensive (at least compared to conventional pellets) but I would like to see someone at least experiment with more streamlined pellets that hold their velocity/energy better...

ECI is only half of necessary range safety

T H I S

Amen! Amen! Amen!

I was brought up to observe the rules about "empty the firearm, lock the action open, lay it on the bench, use a chamber flag, step back from the bench, don't...

Actually, I did do exactly that, and I found the usual internet-quality pile of contradictory and amateur answers. Which is why I posted as I did. And I realize that if this was something made back...

Western Auto Supply Co.

Does anyone know where I can track down who actually manufactured the "Revelation" rifle (model R100B) that I bought recently? Was it Marlin? Mossberg? Anybody have a reference that connects serial...

Thank you for sharing

That looks downright yummy.

Only problem for me is finding halfway decent corn in the first place. All the stuff I have tried in recent years that was advertised as "sweet" corn to me tasted more...

just a little irritated with the NRA

I don't know much about any squabbles in the ranks, but I have seen too much about Wayne and his $10,000 suits and lavish lifestyle that I *was* paying for. Still have not made up my mind if I want...

Well, 130 looks but no takers.

I will leave this posted on RFC for a week or so, just in case someone can use it. I would rather give this to an RFC-er as a small thankyou/payback to this forum...

Free to a good home

I recently came across a bag of empty brass at an antique shop. Of course, they had no clue what it was (the ladies thought they were live, and dangerous) and priced it ridiculously low. So I grabbed...

Looking for trouble

I agree with Shamokinbob, cut to 18 inches and try working that out before you creep down to 16 inches.

If you cut to 16 and make a TINY mistake (like, 15.97 inches) without acquiring the...

I don't get it

Seems weird (to me, at least) to waste a rifle cartridge in a pistol-length barrel. I mean, you work and work to identify a cartridge design with good power, good ballistics, other good...

Here's one more---

I got a spool of grass trimmer plastic cord, the size/brand colored bright orange. I cut off lengths that stick out both the breech and muzzle so I can twist one end and spin...
