Loose bushing

This would be my answer. The least accurate 1911 I ever owned had the sloppiest fitment barrel to bushing. My PMR 30 is the same, the barrel has a bit of play in the bushing when in battery, and it’s...

Excuse

I gotta try that one sometime....”This tastes funny, gotta buy a new gun to get the taste outta my mouth...”

Well at least it sounds like your day ended much better than it started. You did good...

.22 shorts

Shorts shouldn’t be a problem, I’ve seen several posts from Rossi pump owners who run shorts just fine.
Last time I took mine out I brought some OLD Remington .22 shorts I had, and had issues...

Linseed oil

I always use linseed oil on any stock.
Never cared for shiny finishes and much prefer the feel of real wood.

M&P 15-22 mags

I sent Palmetto State Armory a msg to cancel my order for 3 mags and ordered them from Midway instead. They had free shipping for orders over $115 so threw two pistol mags on sale for $116 total free...

You sure you have the correct bolts for those guns?
Asking cause I got a late 40’s-early 50’s 80DL project that had a trigger that wouldn’t reset, turns out it had the wrong version striker...

Forgot to add, my Colt M4/Beretta ARX160 mags (same thing) won’t even fit a std. AR magwell (too long front-back) so no way they will fit a S&W .22.

PSA

Wish I’d see this thread a few days ago, I have some M&P 15-22 mags coming in from Palmetto State Armory for $32 a pop.
BTW, a search for ‘MP15-22’ only pulls up the rifle on Midway’s site.
Search...

Buffer plug

On my RTB upper I had a bit of front-back play in my bcg, didn’t feel like much but first trip out did have occasional light strikes. Popped a garden hose washer between the BCG & buffer and it...

Rare

Seems like I’d stumble across a used HS once in a while at a local gun show but lately they’ve become as scarce as a Colt Woodsman, and their prices are reflecting that. Even the entry level...

Compact RAR

I picked up a RAR Compact and ordered a std. stock module off eBay for under $20.

Don’t get one from Amazon, the pic & description was a std. length stock module but they sent me a compact module...

Zigzag spring

If anyone makes a replacement zigzag spring for the original Ruger mags, I’ve never seen one.
The spiral springs linked are for the later style mags.
I hope someone comes along and proves me wrong,...

Firing pin

I’d start with the firing pin.
Easier to swap and I usually find a bad/worn firing pin more often than a worn spring. Pin could also just need a cleaning but I’d get a replacement and if not needed,...

Price

Curious what the OP paid for his 552.
My LGS has what appears to be a newer used 552 straight comb stock for sale.
Asking $520.
Didn’t appear to be the anniversary version or anything special....

2 stage triggers

Right To Bear had both the RRA NM and Varmit 2 stage triggers on sale for $79 last I looked.
Normally the LaRue is $118 but if you find it for $100, that’s an excellent trigger.

I also just...

Rossi Gallery .22

I picked mine up today, the model with the black polymer furniture and fiber optic sights. The shop I ordered it thru also has a range so I went straight to the lanes and started shooting it right...

My ‘64 MK I has been in the family since ‘65 and it has never been disassembled. Still runs fine.
I mainly just clean what I can get to with CLP and some compressed air.
I picked up an ultrasonic...

CB shorts

My 512 Sportsmaster gets a regular diet of CB shorts, at 25 yards I don’t see any noticeable difference in accuracy or POI vs std. velocity or CCI Quiets.
As mentioned, I just like being able to...

Replacement pins

If OP has an adjustable set screw, problem solved.
But in addition to the AccuWedge, a simple quick fix is to slip an O ring over the rear lug on the upper receiver.

Other options include an...

Well in my earlier post I mentioned the HiVIZ sight was only drift adjustable, based on the pic I saw. But looking on eBay, pic shows the same factory rear hinged sight but the plate has a much...

Chiappa

I think Chiappa is just an importer who puts their name on other stuff.
Sad to say the Lil Badger and their M-1 carbines (.22lr and 9mm) don’t seem to get good reviews from owners who use them more...

Astigmatism

As my eyes get worse from astigmatism, I find red dots & reflex sights getting blurrier. But no issues with non-illuminated scopes or etched reticles.
So 1-4x scopes are becoming my go-to optics,...

Kel Tec p-17

Size wise a Kel Tec p-17 is close, and if you can find one, a cheap trainer. Around $220 these days and I think they still come with 3 mags.

I have a Walther PPQ-22 which is supposed to have the...

Rear sight

The rear sight is great for fast acquisition but not so much for accuracy.
Hiviz supposedly has a rear sight that works with the front but it doesn’t look like it’s adjustable except by drifting it....

Firing pin & pressure plug

When I bought my RTB 16” upper a few months ago, I had occasional misfires/light strikes with CCI Tactical. After a few posts I was advised to get the BoreBuddy firing pin & pressure plug. Not sure...
