Better or Best semi-auto 22 WMR?

I'm looking for a 'good' 22 WSM auto-loader and have been considering the Magnum Research variants. Are they pretty accurate and reliable or, do I need to up the budget considerably?

TIA,
Sid

What about the Kel-Tec PMR 30?

LSavant 01-27-2019 01:28 AM

Or the CZ 512? Itís half the price of Magnum Research.

Needs to be a rifle. I've looked at the Kel-Tec pistol but, quality seems a bit low overall. Plus, in a handgun, I'd have a 9mm on me generally with a 45ACP some too.

You can get the straight stocked MR graphite for <$600. The CZ 512 looks like it might a nice option though. THANKS!

Zastava M22 is a good .22wmr. I can get 3-4 shot clovers at 50 yd.s. Mine seems to shoot the 40 gr. best, but I need to get some 30 gr. and try out. Aguila 40 gr. Cu-plated at 1865 fps [irrc] is my favorite brand.

This is my set up.

The CCI 30 gr. did do a very nice group. 58 yd.s +/-.

Vintage Marlin?

It's not MR, and suppose I'm not addressing your question (forgive me... my wife does) - 922M may be worth a few minutes research if you're not shopping new. Nice ones are out there, likely in a not-unreasonable price range.

I have 2 CZ 512 carbines in .22WMR. Both function flawlessly, and are plenty accurate for my needs (plinking and pest control). I'm not a paper puncher, so I can't speak on group size at 8 million yards, but at 100 or less, I rarely miss what I'm aiming at...

I have a CZ 512 tactical in .22 WMR. it shoots well, but my Ray-Vin AR shoots even better.

The KelTec CMR is a sliding stock carbine with a 30 rd mag. I ust picked one up for $349. I have a Savage, CZ & Ruger. http://www.gunblast.com/KelTec-CMR30.htm

I'd like to hear more on the Ray-Vin but can't get anyone to answer the phones at the factory.

I own a Remington 597 magnum with a laminated stock and a heavy barrel. It is a sweet shooter that gives groups that are right at 1.5 inches at 100 yards. They quit making it a couple years ago, but if you can find one, it is a great gun to snag! :gun4:

Yes, it's a machine shop, so hard to hear the phones. His website does say he may not hear the phone or return calls, so it's best to email him.

Any of the many Volquartsen models.

Superb barrels and very good triggers. Goes bang every time without blowing up, which many semi-autos 17hmr/22WMR's don't.

Here's mine: Volquarsten Fusion switch barrel.
https://i.imgur.com/YRsk2U1h.jpg Shown with the 17hmr barrel, but there is no difference in how it looks with the .22WMR barrel installed.

I have the Savage .22 mag, love it and its very accurate with Hornady ammo.
