premier pump

Any chance for a barrel fora old premier 22 pump?
Thanks Richard

Is your barrel washed out? Every once in a while one will pop up on fleabay, but your taking a change that it may have no rifling left in it.

Also a Mossberg model M barrel will work.

You can also have the barrel relined. Not sure on what the G-smith get these days to do one.

Has a spot about six inches from end of barrel that the cleaning patch hits a free spot about two inches long before it hits rifling again.

Have you tried several varieties of ammo to see if it shoots? Reason I,m asking is I and many of us have ringed or bulged barrel .22s. I have 3 or 4 and they shoot fine. As well as exspected for the models. I would try one of the standard velosity solids. You may not have to replace it. Good luck.

rosscoe 05-15-2014 09:23 PM

Sorry guys, but where the bulge is,I don't think it will shoot very well.............
Don't ask me how I know this:p

Even if you did locate a replacement barrel, I still wouldn't shoot it very much or if at all. The parts for these old pumps are hard to come by. But they do show up and can get kind of pricey.

So, what is the external condition of this barrel with the bulge/ring??? If it is in good condition... get it relined!!! AND you will have the original barrel, but with a like new bore and as tight a chamber as you want!!!
God Bless, Frank.

This old rifle belonged to my Grandfather and he passed on my 6th birthday 61 years ago this August. The old game shooter has been used a lot, I just thought it would be nice to get it going again but if it turns into a wall hanger that is alright by me. I can remember being told when I was a kid by my Dad that it was shot out so it has not been messed with for years. Since I have retired the tinkering has begun. Thanks to you guys for your help and thoughts.
Richard

I've only seen one in person in my few years of searching for these old Mossberg's.
If I would of known then how scarce they where I might have picked it up for parts. It was in rough shape so I passed on it, but it worked out for the better. About a year later I ended up finding a Mossberg Model M.
