Rich J,

I think you hit a wrong button totaling up your score. If your individual target scores are correct, you gave yourself a chunk of points. It happens. I did it once and was so happy to have such a score... until realized looking at the targets that something was wrong.

If the individual scores are correct, still some good shooting IMO!

Thatís why I deleted it........always worried about my math......guess the nuns should have rapped my knuckles even harder ;-)

No, the two targets pictured are the best of five at 10 yards and best of five at 15 yards, but thanks for saying it's solid shooting.

Might get brave and try 25 yards in April. We shall see.

Dug out my old Ruger MkII-22/45 for this months match. Haven't shot it in 10 years, now I remember why. :(

You can do a lot with that pistol to turn it into something outstanding. If you replace the stock trigger with a target trigger that has the overtravel screw at the top of the trigger, and polish the sear, it get much better.

I have bicycle innertube over the grip as well.

Understood that those were the best targets, but overall still a respectable score IMHO. It's not like having an average above 9 is a simple thing, even at the closer ranges.

Then again, I've seen some of the rifle targets that are tighter than many shoot when supported. I'm sure some of you might do that with a pistol as well. :bthumb:

In the Offhand Rifle section, we have something called the "mighty tug". It reliably appears when you've put up a string of good shots, and you think you've solved the problem of how to shoot accurately. As you press the trigger for the triumph of your next X ring shot, your support arm jerks the rifle out into the seven ring as the shot breaks. I have the pistol version of the mighty tug.

I know "Mighty Tug" too well. I hate him.

15 Yard Open Sights

Back to the National Forest this morn with the S&W Model 41, 7" barrel with factory sights. Tried a little hotter ammo with CCI-Mini Mags, functioned perfectly.

Yes, also familiar with "Mighty Tug" as he haunts me on occasion. This target was shot in horizontal position with S at left. Both low shots on targets 1 and 3 were "tugged" as was the one on target 4 to a lesser degree.

Beautiful sunny day , except for a little wind , temps in upper 60ís .
Shot the Colt Gold Cup twice and shot a pair of 215ís . I really thought I would shoot better with the Gold Cup and was surprised at the targets shot with the Rail when I pulled the target. Fun game, thanks for hosting.
Will post pic when my internet gets back on . It was knocked out by the Tornado that tore up the town next to us last Thursday.
EDIT :
Finally got internet this morning.
hereís a picture of my target and Colt 1911-22 Rail . My first shot on the top target was a wild 6 ring , Iím not sure what happened , but I settled down and was able to keep most of the others close .

Some great scores posting up guys. BBG that 10 yard score should be top of the charts that I've seen so far. Great stuff!

Some good looking hardware showing up as well. Gwelo, I'm on the fence as to which way the 41 looks better, with the 5.5" or 7"barrel. Quite a few pistols start to look strange when the barrel reaches a certain point, but on that 41 it looks great either way to me.

With only a couple days left in the month, chances are I won't shoot the pistol any more. But I'm glad to see entries rolling in. Now I just have to start digging for the secrets you top shooters are using! :bthumb:

G, It doesn't take but a glance to see you typed the wrong score for this entry. I didn't add them all up from the picture, but it looks like you just re-typed the 15 yd open score.
Let me know,
Dennis

Outstanding. I can see I'm gonna be relegated to spectator status. :)

Great catch on that target Dennis. I was paying so much attention to the 41 that the score stated vs targets wasn't even noticed. That's one nice looking target set Gwelo....

I knew the scores would keep going up, and this month I think they went up in ever category. Great shooting everyone, :bthumb:
