Too purdy to take to the woods! Congrats, very nice.

The instruction booklet for my Grade 1 SA says that if you take a high grade Browning into the bush it will eventually show a little wear. But the booklet says to go ahead anyway since each nick and blemish will leave you with memories of good times.

That's a really nice squirrel rifle!

GORGEOUS :bthumb:

Not only the best 22 semiautomatic ever! But a beautiful piece of living art!

Nice looking SA-22.

In my opinion, the SA-22 is the best semi auto 22 field rifle ever made.

trapper bill,

Beautiful rifle - congrats! Enjoy it for many years.

What grade is it? Would it be possible to see the opposite side of the receiver, too?

I assume it's in .22 LR and not .22 Short chambering?

Thanks for the photo!

Grade VI Attachment 254839 It still smells like cosmeline.I will get it cleaned up and scoped and hopefully it will be a reliable squirrel rifle.

That is a gorgeous rifle. If it shoots as good as it looks, it will be a laser.

Been my favorite for 50 years. Finest rimfire rifle made.

Have a Vari-X II 4-12 on mine. Shoot subsonic hp's.

Win75 05-02-2021 02:20 PM

Too pretty to be a woods rifle. Congratulations.

Very true. Rifles are meant to be used. The only exceptions are ones of extreme historical value.

That is one pretty rifle.

JFK had a M1 Garand he got from the DCM when he was a senator.

Close -- Tennessee Williams shooting. Gore Vidal is wearing the shades, standing next to JFK.

Thatís the SA22 I wanted but found a new Grade 1 SA22 for sub $400 so too good a deal to pass up. I would totally take that Grade IV in the woods and let the honest wear show. You only live once and let the grandkids tell the story of how that rifle walked the woods in grandadís hands for many miles. Thatís what I am doing with my grade 1 but the grade IV would let my ancestors know I had class.

old 39 05-04-2021 11:12 PM

It might be a dangerous thing to say but when you show people that beautiful Browning SA you can say "Now THIS is not a Ruger 10/22".

Always loved the petite profile of that rifle. Gtz!

Whether Gore or Tennessee, they sure don't look like they're at all familiar with shooting a rifle. Awkward!

I'm surprised they only have 1 gun between them. Maybe that's all they could afford.

Yeah -- I can't find it now, but I read somewhere that Williams claims that he outshot both of them, even using his "bad eye," whatever that means. Cross-eye dominance?
