Here's my 4 - Actually 2 of 'em are convertible, back to original 96/22 or even 22WMR or 17HMR if I wanted to invest in the parts necessary -

Top is Anschutz 1502HB with Simmons ATV scope. Excellent squirrel rifle but just a little heavy for my liking -

Next down is Marlin 717M2 wearing an old Bushnell 3-9X Sportview. Don't use this one much; no particular reason, just usually grab another one first -

Third is completely custom Ruger 96 - CWG claro walnut stock duped from my own custom pattern, Clerke barrel contoured sporter from .920" original, trigger mod'd by TTShooter, Leupold 2-7x VX-1 scope. It'll shoot squirrel heads farther than I'm able -

Bottom is another 96/17HM2 - slightly mod'd stock, 16.25" .920 barrel originally in 17HS (think 17Aguila), chamber reamed to 17HM2 by Skeeter27Red, wears a Tasco airgun 2-7X scope. This'n also shoots better'n me & actually shoots 17Aguila ammo better now than before the rechamber -

Here's the above bottom rifle with a Whistle Pig fluted barrel w/muzzle brake slots. I'm having headspace issues with this barrel so it's currently being re-worked to correct that.

Man I love the look of that rifle. Too bad McMillian doesn't do that stock color.

Standard Savage plastic stock, now with a crack in it near the trigger. Still shoots pretty straight.
