Neat little pocket blade with a lot of features for the office worker or outdoor activitied too. Small size fits the hands of smaller females too if that person happens to be a female.

Bought my 1st one about a week ago - a lot of thought went into this I thnk. The bare necessities.

Nice addition to their line-up.

My choice is their Executive model, the 3" size and tool complement have made it so.

I've daily-carried/used/abused one for the past 30 years...

You can't go wrong with the standard sized Vic SAKs (Tinker size). I have migrated to carrying the Small Tinker this year (3.3"). My very first Vic SAK was a Tinker. I later moved to a Alox Soldier and then to the 111mm Adventurer before switching to the Small Tinker this year. That pretty much traces 35+ years of SAK ownership and carry.

A small Leatherman Ps4 Squirt makes a nice functional gift too.

I like and have long used Tinkers and Spartans :bthumb:
I wouldn't hesitate gifting either.
I gave my 10 year old daughter an Executive just before our first back packing trip, now she's a college senior and still carries it!:D

I carried an Alox Soldier for several years and then went to an Alox Cadet. Less bulk and weight in the pocket.

Swiss Army Knife

j.r., your thread brought some good memories from waay back. I was coaching a group of 4th 5th and 6th grader's basketball team for the local Kiwanis group. This was in 1973.
That year they got together and bought me a Christmas present. It was a Swiss Army Knife , A Tinker.
I just checked, I still have it----unused.
I have and use others , but not that one.

Ken

That little Compact is probably the most useful of the bunch, as far as I’m concerned.

And for those of you who don’t think you would ever use the little hook, I have found it to be pretty handy for carrying packages, etc. Besides, the top of it is a fingernail file.

I've wondered why that nail file isn't included in all of the other models which have the parcel hook tool. There are quite a few internet threads which show how useful this hook can be.
