My CM-2 With Scope

The B-Square Picatinny/Weaver adapter (#17015) arrived while I was away visiting family. I mounted it and presently have a Tasco 6~24X40 on top.... to be replaced today with a T-36 Weaver. The adapter mount is solid and well worth the $22.00 (inc. shipping) from SWFA.

The following pictures have been posted in another thread but I'm going to post them here again. The targets I used are Official NRA 50 yard smallbore targets.

The first is of the rifle just sitting on the bench.

Next is a closeup of the mount and the open action.

Here is a set of targets shot at 57 yards. The top target was used to adjust the scope settings and the bottom is 10 shots with CCI Standard Velocity. The scope was set to 22X.

This set of targets was shot with Wolf Match-Target cartridges. Sighting target above and 10 shots in lower target. Scope at 22X.

That looks good.
I was woundering if it would clamp down on the 8.5MM dovetail.

It's supposed to be for grooves of 9.5~13.5mm but I don't see why a little JB Weld couldn't be added to the clamping rail edge to allow it's use on 8.5mm grooves. Carefully applied and filed to fit, it should work OK.

I spent a few hours on the range this evening sighting in the Weaver T-36 scope that I put on the CM-2 today. Conditions were perfect; absolute calm. After sighting at 100 yards I shot three targets for score. Ten shots on each NRA 100 yard smallbore target with a total score of 300-22X. I used Wolf Match-Target cartridges.

The CM-2 rifles are definitely shooters and a great value for the money.

Could you clarify whether you had to use the JB Weld or if the adapter attached directly to the 8.5 mm rail without any additional tweaking?

Thanks

The adapter on mine is not modified in any way; i.e., no JB Weld was used. My rifle grooves measure .371" at the narrowest which makes it very close to exactly 9.5mm.

B-Square

I got one of these adapters after reading this post. It went on like it was made for the gun. Great "fix" to the CM-2s.

Now I can really find out how she shoots.

Thanks

George

Got one of these mounts on Friday and it installed easily BUT my dovetail must not be parallel to the bore.

At 50 yards it is shooting about 8 inches high and 8 inches to the right with the scope adjusted all the way to correct for this. I am using Burris Signature Zee rings and a Mueller APV scope. Not enough adjustment in the scope to get it sighted in.

I am going to try the -20 inserts front and rear to see if I can get it aligned.

Gun was easy to sight in with the original iron sights.

Bob, I have a similar problem with my Biathlon Basic 7-2 rifle. The factory rail is skewed to the left a little and I have to use Millett Angle-Loc rings to align the scope with the bore. Your Burris rings with the inserts is probably a better answer but the Millett rings work OK.
